What is your morning routine?
Wake up. Morning meditation, self-care; check emails and start the day. However, each day is different depending on which side of the bed I wake up on! 🙂
Tell us about your career path
I am the founder of an NGO called Power to Girls Foundation that empowers girls within the diaspora to believe in themselves and provide leadership and mentorship opportunities. In addition, I am also the CEO of a tech started called DriveHER that provides a platform for women to provide safe rides for other women.
What challenges do you or women face in your industry?
Lack of funding and support in the tech industry. However; the lack of support is also a fuel to leave a mark.
What advice would you give to young girls who want to be the NEXT you?
Enjoy the process – live your life to the fullest and make mistakes, but learn from them. Stay true to yourself, tune out the naysayers and believe that voice that says keep going. Enjoy the little wins and be grateful for them. But above all BE you to the fullest.
How do you separate work life from your personal life?
By simply being present and handling things based on priority.
What inspires you?
Life is my greatest inspiration. Everything strikes a nerve and challenges me to think deeper and to question everything. I am also inspired by the people around me, my girls, my family and the unknown people that are constantly cheering for me. They inspire me to keep going.
When you’re off the clock, what are your indulgences?
Movies. Lots and lots of movies.
